Morality – The Human Body Vs. Mannequins.
There are many things in life that are not readily understood. This is to be expected seeing as we live in a world that becomes more complex on an hourly basis. This is not an issues in terms of technology and other innovations that benefit humanity, but my concern here today is not to praise the accomplishments of great people and societies but rather to express a concern of mine regarding the blurring of boundaries.
I’m sure most have you have heard of the bodies exhibition. If you haven’t I’ll explain; the bodies exhibition is a exhibit were real human bodies or human organs are on display. They are position in various positions and in some cases have their privet organs exposed. The official objective of this exhibition is to educate the masses about the intricacy of the human body.
In my opinion this is total bunk. Why you might s ask? Well, if you are asking than you are already effected by the pervasive issue that I will here express in a line, the desensitization of the sanctity of a human body. Is there a reason why this can be done with mannequins? I have a friend who sells mannequins online and I’m sure if there the people who funded this operation wanted him to get his manufacturer to produce human body replicas he would do it. There is no reason why this can be done with mannequins!
But then again I’m sure that I sound sill but I’m also sure that you can’t really but your finger on the exact reason for your view on my opinion. I can, the reason why the whole concept is attractive is because it feed of a perverse need of ours to see things that are undignified and vulgar. It plays into our animal instincts, something which really does not need encouragement in our society.
If it were really about education then it should be done with human replica mannequins. As far as I am concerned I rest my case.
