Mannequins: More Than Just Clothing Displays

Since the industrial revolution, mannequins have been an asset for many shop owners. Displayed in a myriad of scenarios, they have enabled the general public to visualize just how the shop owners' merchandise would either fit on a body or perhaps to see the practicality of the items for sale.

Mannequins however are no longer just for clothing. Today they used for much more. Mannequins are key in helping to create a mood. Most people associate mannequins with the display of clothing. However mannequins can also be seated on furniture to create a sense of realism. They can be used to portray a scene by wearing headphones in a music store. Mannequins can be used as merchandise displays. For example putting several bracelets on an arm can show a variety of one product. And yes, they can portray a mood like a picnic in the park.

If used for clothing, several mannequins can be grouped together to show different ways of wearing a single product. They can also display the options of an entire line. Any way that is chosen, mannequins take a designer's idea and visually bring that idea into reality. This enables buyers to have a more vivid sense of how the product can benefit them. And if a consumer can see themselves in the scenario, they are more likely to purchase the products.
